If applying for food stamps, and you do not know the number of the local food stamp office, please call 1-877-847-3663 (FOOD). Or click here to find out how to apply in your county.

When disaster hits, the Food Stamp Program can help people put the pieces back together. Here are four ways that food stamps can help:

  • Supplemental Disaster Food Stamps to support current food stamp recipient households to afford the extra food costs associated with disaster and displacement;
  • Replacement Food Stamps to replace lost/spoiled food purchased with food stamps for current food stamp recipient households - replacement can be given to entire zip codes in the case of disasters;
  • Disaster Food Stamps to help people usually not eligible for food stamps; and
  • Expedited Food Stamps because you are low-income and in immediate need - in the case of disaster, the county will be prepared to process more expidited food stamp applications.
